SPRING WATCH

I have just spent the last two hours looking up a duck bum
Wasn’t until the duck sprung a dozen kids did it get any fun

The Owl is the same asleep on the job because it was the day
Action - I would have had to stayed up all night making hay

The wrens were a lot far more chirpier while waiting to be fed
Whilst taking it in turns to sit on their little sis or bro’s head

The Gold crests are bigger it’s amazing they don’t all fall out
All mouths open - feed me - feed me - feed me - their shout

While the babbling brook is looking all very nice and serene
The mass fledging’s flight across it makes for a quite a scene

The March tits have got it posh - a hollow tree for their nest
There was so much else to see but I never got to see the rest

Badgers - foxes vermin to others I hear but now loved by me
We learn a lot from nature if we watch while letting them be

Here’s to the bloody cameras that give us Spring Watch 24/7
More so too to the nature lovers who are now in 7th heaven

Not too sure on the night shifter who comes home to the sun
Switching on the TV to a few hours of looking up a ducks bum

Indiana Shaw . . . ; )
